Hi there! 



We are Youri (31, Dutch) and Laxmi (30, British) a couple travelling to New Zealand from June 2026 until May 2027 on Working Holiday Visas. 



Together, we have explored parts of East Asia and Australia, and we’re excited to continue our journey on this side of the world while experiencing local life in New Zealand. 



While travelling, we enjoy nice walks, sports, keeping fit, exploring nature, learning about different cultures, meaningful conversations, animals, sunsets, board games and good food. 



Youri: I have a background in teaching and web development. I enjoy staying active through going to the gym, running and cycling. One year ago I completed a full Ironman in Austria. I’m also a bit of a nerd at heart, so one of things I look forward to seeing on this trip is visiting the filming locations from Lord of the Rings.


Laxmi: I come from a media background where I worked as film trailer producer. I’m a big foodie and really enjoy cooking and baking, with some experience working in kitchens and cafes. I also love all animals and have volunteered on farms, so would love to connect with some more furry friends. 



We are open to a broad range of experiences and bring several useful skills that could assist around your home.

We’re not just looking for a place to stay; we genuinely want to contribute to daily life and learn new skills. 



We would love to begin our journey by experiencing living the New Zealand lifestyle.

Youri: 
I worked as a front-end developer for 7 years and a web development teacher for 3 years which gave me strong programming, computing and communication skills. As a native Dutch speaker, I’d be more than willing to assist with language learning or teaching where useful. I’m also very active and comfortable with physical, hands-on, and physical work.



Laxmi:
I previously worked as a trailer producer which helped me develop good communication and organisation skills. I also enjoy cooking and baking, with experience in kitchens and cafes, so am happy to help assist in the kitchen and daily household tasks. I love volunteering, and my experience includes cooking in a community kitchen, assisting on a farm, and supervising children under 3 years old in a daycare. 



Together, we have experience in different fields, are fast learners and bring strong worth ethic to everything we do. As a couple in our early 30s, we are mature, reliable, respectful, clean, calm and easy to live with.
