Description
I like Workaway because it makes travel feel more real. Instead of just moving from place to place, I get to stay awhile, help out, and actually be part of daily life. Trading work for a place to stay slows things down and lets me experience somewhere in a more honest way.
I have been traveling Latin America on a motorcycle, which says a lot about the kind of traveler I am. I like adventure and the unknown, figuring things out as I go, and seeing places at ground level instead of rushing past them. Traveling this way pushes me out of my comfort zone and keeps things exciting.
Latin America has really stuck with me. Life feels more open and social, and people take time to talk and share meals. I like waking up somewhere new, doing something useful during the day, and ending it with good conversation or a shared dinner.
I also enjoy working with my hands and helping improve a place while I am there. Building something, fixing things, or just making a space better gives me a real sense of satisfaction. It feels good to leave knowing I contributed something.
What makes me happy is simple. Movement, meeting people, learning Spanish little by little, and feeling connected to where I am instead of just passing through. Workaway gives me that balance and makes traveling feel meaningful.

More details about your skills
I am a mechanical engineer with strong hands on skills. I do a lot of my own motorcycle maintenance and repairs while traveling through the Western Hemisphere on my bike, which has made me comfortable diagnosing problems and fixing things as they come up.
Back home I also do handyman work as a side hustle, so I have experience with general maintenance, repairs, basic electrical work, painting, and some carpentry. I have also helped with maintenance projects at another hostel in Mexico, so I am familiar with the kind of work needed to keep a shared space running smoothly.
I am comfortable using tools, working independently, and taking on practical projects that help improve and maintain a place. I enjoy problem solving, working with my hands, and I am always willing to learn new skills when needed.

What else ...
Above all, I just really love traveling. Seeing new places, meeting different people, and learning how life works in other parts of the world is what keeps me moving. Traveling by motorcycle has made that even more meaningful for me because I experience places slowly and more directly instead of just passing through.
Outside of work, I enjoy being part of the social side of a hostel or community space. I like cooking and sharing meals, playing card games, and helping people feel comfortable when they arrive somewhere new. I usually stick to simple, classic games that are easy for anyone to join.
I spend a lot of time outdoors and enjoy hiking, fishing, and exploring new areas, and I am always happy to help guide a walk or hike if people are interested. I am easygoing, adaptable, and genuinely enjoy meeting people from different backgrounds and being part of the atmosphere that makes a place memorable.
