Hi Everyone, please allow me to introduce myself!
My name's Jonty, I'm an Aussie, born and raised in Adelaide, lived for a couple of years in Montreal, Quebec before returning to Australia where I am now living in Melbourne. I am currently cycling and catching trains in Europe with my Partner, Olivia.
Some things which I enjoy are cooking (I am somewhere between vegetarian and vegan) and baking, cycling and bikepacking, anything to do with coffee, wine and dining, learning French, music and film, and Australian football. With regards to my values, I am quite a minimalist person who believes in reducing excessive consumption and focusing on a slow, sustainable lifestyle. Buddhism and mindfulness has been a growing interest of mine for a number of years now.
As for skills, I have completed workaways involving gardening, renovation, general maintenance, grape-picking, cleaning, and cooking. I have a background mostly in hospitality, coffee, and wine, and so I am warm and helpful with guests and can provide customer service, cleaning and washing. My studies in engineering also provide me with analytical and problem-solving skills, general maths and science knowledge, and computer skills. I do not have hard skills like carpentry or plumbing however I love using my hands and learning new skills; I tend to enjoy repetitive and manual labour and I am happy to learn any new skills from a Workaway host and put them to the test. -
