We both retired in 6/2022 and started our new life in Europe! We like nature and the varied cultures found around every bend. We often find humor in what we do & have learned to expect the unexpected!

Description

We are Wendy and Leigh and we retired in June 2022, converted our home in Tucson, Arizona into an Airbnb and, along with our two Beagles (sisters), flew to Italy to start a new adventure!

Why Italy, you might wonder? It so happens that our son and his wife live there, in Vicenza, where we got schooled in many of the Italian traditions, habits and so much more! But onward......there is so much more to see and experience here in Europe and Morocco!

We both like projects, although we like different aspects of them. Give Leigh instructions and he follows them; he is a hard worker and likes to see projects completed, if time allows. He enjoys hands-on projects.

I like projects also, but I really enjoy troubleshooting and figuring out how to creatively fix a problem or situation.

We both have extensive experience in working with people of all ages. Leigh is a counselor and has worked in a variety of positions including addiction/behavioral counseling, personal trainer, and health & fitness coaching. He also has experience as a painter and as a merchandiser.

I retired from two careers....one as a sales consultant in the decorating business and another as a special education Language Arts teacher. I enjoyed both very much, as working with people of all ages, abilities, and backgrounds is very appealing to me.

We both enjoy dogs and know the joy they bring to their owners.......it's hard to explain that to a non-pet owner. We had numerous people (all non-pet owners) ask us "Do you really want to take your dogs all the way to Europe"? They are family, in every sense of the word!! While Leigh and I are ok with cats, our beagles are learning to live among the many street cats in Turkey and Morocco. While they simply ignore the majority of cats now, for some unknown reason, they vocally react to others. We can’t figure it out! But other dogs and or animals, inside or outside, do not present a problem. In reality, our beagles have never harmed anyone....they really just love to sleep……all day if we let them!

What else ...

We enjoy board and card games, whether they be silly and full of laughs, or ones that involve strategy. We are always open to learning something new!

We really enjoy 2-man kayaking in on-top kayaks.... and we recently purchased one, along with wetsuits so we can paddle year round 👍! We like to swim, walk and hike for exercise, or if a gym is nearby, we'll probably visit that, too.
