Description
Hi, I'm Anne :)
I have already been living in Berlin for 12 years now and the center of my life is my chosen family. I live with a nesting partner and an adopted Romanian street dog in a queer shared apartment. The old house has a balcony and a courtyard, which I cultivate, as I no longer have a garden after many years of permaculture on 500m². Instead, I also take care of a no-budget community garden that belongs to the house of my beloved partner Johann. We work with materials that we find on the street or re- and upcycle in other ways. I volunteer at a free thrift store, regularly support an anti-capitalist organic shop, and am committed to fighting food waste. and I also have a so-called profession: I am a trained occupational therapist and have years of experience with neurological patients. I also worked with various structurally disadvantaged groups (families seeking asylum, LGBTIQ*, homeless people). I see myself as a political and politically active person, whereby political practice in my case primarily concerns the way I connect with my fellow (human) beings and nature. At the beginning of this year I started a three-year training in Somatic Experiencing, a form of body-oriented trauma therapy. My own years of trauma therapy help me in this - as well as regular spiritual and meditation practice. I love nature, spend as much time as possible in the countryside, and whenever I have time for that I work with my hands shaping clay, carving prints, tie dye fabrics...
My next adventure I want to do together with my partner Johann. He may have a little less experience in gardening/permaculture, but that doesn't make him any less of a go-getter. Johann has lived in several countries around the world where he lived a wide variety of lives (from academic life/doing his doctorate to setting up a camp in war-torn Ukraine, to name a few). He is the language talent of the two of us – and while I am the craftsperson, he is the artist. Johann writes and makes Techno music. We are both passionate informal dancers and humorous everyday comedians. We already have Workaway experience together and are pretty sure we make a great team. However, we are both a bit introverted and after an exciting day, we like to have some quiet time to read and cuddle, enjoy campfires and stargazing.
