Hello, I'm Steve!

I'm originally from upstate New York, and currently in the midst of a long winding stretch of travel and work exchange. After a number of years of city living in Boston, I'm looking to reconnect with the natural world while meeting new people, exploring alternative lifestyles, and learning more about agriculture and sustainability.

I'm a musician - I play piano, some guitar, and sing here and there. I spent the last 4 years working in music venues as an audio engineer and stagehand, as well as recording my own music and helping others do the same. In my free time, I like to bike, write, dance, and spend time outdoors! Currently rekindling an old love for hiking and camping :)

I love to meet new people and enjoy socializing, as well as taking time to be alone. When it comes to living situations, I'm tidy and fairly self-sufficient, though I'll happily jump into the routine of your home and commune alongside you for shared meals, chores, and responsibilities.

I'm new to the Workaway life but very eager to learn and explore. Excited to meet you!

So far in my work exchange journey I've tackled animal care, fence-building, mowing & weeding, and trash removal. I'd describe myself as a diligent and cooperative worker, I approach projects with rigor and attention to detail. I'd consider myself a quick learner, and I learn best by doing! A little guidance and I'll be off to the races.

I spent the last four years working in music venues in Boston as an audio engineer and stagehand, so I don't shy away from manual labor haha. Also well-versed in audio production and recording, happy to lend those skills given the chance!

I have some basic experience in construction from home repair projects as a teenager -- roofing, flooring, building decks and wheelchair ramps.

I also have some experience in food service, both in prep and public-facing roles. I enjoy making folks feel welcome and well-cared for!
