  • Description

Hello, my name is Brandon. A 27 year old male from Shenandoah Valley, Va.

Currently, I am traveling by van with my partner, Ana. We are here in SW Florida learning about syntropic agroforestry, regenerative farming and beyong-organic practices. Jacob Hart aka HartHealthyFarm (not from workaway) is hosting us on his 4 acre mini jungle.

My passion lies in living respectfully and organically. As the saying goes, “Live simply so that others may simply live.”
Over the years, I have been actively pulling out from the corporate world to cultivate a more symbiotic relationship with the Earth. Building an honest relationship with plants, animals, and community.
I do not know exactly where I am going with this aim, but it feels right.

Since July 2023, I had the honor of sharing a home with 4 adults, including myself, who are all on the same path.
Each week, we have a “mandatory” meeting to check in with each other and anything that relates to the community. With each of us having our own schedules, we also try to get a 2hr interactive time in each week
    - Whether it is a creative project or if someone wants to share something they learned -
We’ll get together to make music, paint, play games, and really do just about anything.
We have these get togethers, because we understand the need for alone time and moving at our own individual pastes while meeting the obligations of the society we live in. Aka bills, work, ect.
In 2025, we started a simple home garden of a variety of tomatoes, peppers and herbs. We also got into foraging and making meals with what we would forage.
Having this community allowed me to transcend in my physical, emotional, and mental healing. The love and support here has showed me the importance of creating healthy and respectful relationships. I am beyond appreciative of this opportunity and all the doors it has opened up for me.

  • More details about your skills

Since graduating high school (2018) i’ve mostly been a residential handyman. It’s been a fallback job anytime I was trying something new.
I mostly was a helper for my dad who is a residential master repair man and troubleshooter. I am no master repair man nor trouble shooter. I mostly do labor work, landscape, setting up job sites, demolition, basically being a helper doing laborious tasks and making things easier for the professionals.

I’ve worked on many high roofs to sealing the foundation of a basement wall. I’ve repaired siding while painting the entire inside of million dollar homes.
I know the basics. I have some skill. I know my way around tools. but i have no interest in industrial building. My interest lies in building with natural resources and building without large equipment. Construction today is overwhelming, toxic, and destructive. The infrastructure is much weaker and bland. And that’s not adding how these tools and resources are being sourced.

Some examples of what i’ve done:
    •Installed skylights
•Roof repairs and installs (shingles, leaks, chimneys)
    •Painting indoor and out
•Landscaping : making garden beds, clearing out brush, mulching and planting, chopping wood (love this), building fences
•Installed windows and doors. Staircases and pull down stair cases
    •Built gazebos and decks.
•Electrical work (not a professional) : Running wire, installing lights, installing electric car chargers, installing audio
•I’ve helped on projects, building a few houses from ground up.
    •a lot of shoveling
    •Laid cement pads
    •Drywall repairs

    My interest lies in:
•Learning to work in symbiosis with the natural world and its abundance of magic.
    •Foraging
    •Connecting and learning about nature
    •natural building/construction
    •Improvising
•learning about herbs, flowers and tinctures and making concoctions
    •Tending a garden, growing food
    •Regenerative and beyond-organic practices.
•Creating meals/dishes that are in alignment with my health
•Fermenting and other ways of enhancing food
•Learning about human physiology and psychology
•Discovering my creativity through any means : singing, art, crafts, group activities
•Enhancing my problem solving skills, utilizing the faculties of my mind.
    •Learning plant medicines
    •Learning outdoor survival skills
    •”Survival” first aid
    •Martial arts and dance
    •Coaching/guiding kids/adults
•Discovering my potential, unlocking new skills. Open to ideas
•Achieving tasks by teamwork or solo
•Concocting alternative cleaners such as house cleaners, toothpaste, body soap, etc.
    •Arts, crafts and diy’s
    •Assisting in spiritual ceremonies
•Helping others with their meditation. Being able to hold space for others to express openly and authentically. Guiding others on an inward journey whether through breath, movement, and/or medicines.
    •Holistic health care remedies/modalities
    •Massage/body work
    •Human and animal relations
    •Creating healthy relationships
    •Spreading Joy, love and understanding.

    What I am capable of:
I have been a wrestler all my life as well as a middle/high school coach for a couple years once graduating high school. I am athletic and in good health. I enjoy being outside in my bare-feet. I’ve developed my ability to be more present. Immersing more into the moment. Cherishing more of wherever I am at. I am a hands on learner and I catch on quickly. I am the oldest of 6 siblings as well as the oldest of all my cousins. Therefore, I have lots of time interacting with children.
•Typical house cleaning such as dishes, yard work, floors, walls,
    •Building indoor shelves
    •Laborious outdoor work
    •Being active all day
•Creating a space of joy and ease
    •Gardening
    •Concocting meals
•Oldest child (of 6): playing with kids, taking care of kids, teaching and coaching kids

  • Age

    27

  • What else ...

Working on my health has drastically changed my life, my mindset, and my aim.
I know wherever i’m at, is right where I am supposed to be. That there is so much packed in every moment. Realizing that, who I am impacts greatly into the collective and everything that’s around me.
There is never a time where one has fallen off of their path rather is at a learning curve.

  • Some more information

    • Smoker

    • Driver's licence

    • Allergies
      Poison ivy/oak

    • Special dietary requirements
Since September 2023 i’ve been eating along the lines of raw veganism. I say along the lines because it’s been quite an experience. My diet mostly consists of farm fresh produce, fruit, nuts, and herbs. Made into ferments, juices, raw dishes, and teas.
