I have worked in Alaska as a teacher and carpenter for nearly 30 years. I am looking to use my skills to volunteer for anyone who needs some help around a homestead or farm.

Description

I am a retired teacher who spent most of my career in Fairbanks, Alaska teaching high school students in the area of construction, technical drawing, welding and special education. In my younger years I did volunteer work for dog mushers and lived for room and board in rustic surrounding, so I am accustomed to living without modern amenities.

I enjoy outdoor activities such as hiking, camping, fishing, skiing and running and have also worked as a carpenter for many years. I also have a medium sized older dog who loves to meet people and play fetch with them. I am a fairly happy and content individual who likes to treat everyone with respect and kindness.

I am a fairly handy person and have lots of experience with carpentry tools, lots of metalworking/welding equipment and a little engine related knowledge. I can also use a broom or dust rag. I'm not afraid of work!

I am an easy person to be around and can take instruction well. I love to learn about new things. My favorite hobby is woodworking but currently do not have the facilities to accommodate that activity.
