Dear hosts,
my name is Silvi, I am 42 years old and live in the beautiful city of Karlsruhe in Southwest Germany. I work as a pre-school teacher and speech therapist in a kindergarten with many multilingual kids. Therefore I am very enthusiastic about the never-ever boring work with children and people in general.

I love all Northern European countries! I've spent a whole year in Helsinki as an au pair. I also spent three summers and one winter in South Iceland. During my first stay, I worked on a farm with cows, sheep and horses. Afterwards, I got hired as a horse riding tour guide and helped out in the hotel & guest house business, which included cleaning, waitering, taking care of guests and a little training of the young horses. On my first workaway stay that happened thanks to this website, I took care of a little chicken farm in Norway while my host was traveling.

Due to my main job here in Germany, I'm afraid I won't be available for a very long period of time (max. 3-4 weeks in August 2024, maybe two more weeks in spring or autumn 2024).

Still, I would love to combine some new travel experience with getting to know you, your culture, your way of life, your language and hopefully some new skills. :)

I am an open-minded, friendly and very reliable person and easy to be around. I feel like I'm able to adapt to new situations and surroundings really well, and I'm really eager to learn new skills, so I'm open for a lot of fields you could use some helping hands in.

I'm good around people and animals, especially horses. I love cooking and baking and being included in your family routine. Generally, I'm really happy when being outside in all kinds of weather, so all sorts of farm work would be awesome. :)
