Description
Hi! I'm Simon, from Cornwall in the most south-west corner of England, UK. I graduated from university, where I studied Literature and Creative Writing, in the summer of 2026 and want to explore the world a little more...
I love sports, and in Cornwall I spend a lot of my free time surfing, swimming and running... but sometimes lounging on the beach with a book is nice too :)
I also spend plenty of time walking, either with my dog Kara on the moors or alone along the coast.
I'm a very outgoing person, and I always love a good party. Although I enjoy time alone, my "social battery" is always charged.
I love drawing, painting and sculpture and usually unwind in the evenings by doing one of these, if I'm not reading. My favourite thing to do is try out new mediums and techniques.
I used to play the viola and piano, but gave them up. I'd love to learn a musical instrument again. -

Throughout my school experience, I organised and ran after-school clubs for science, mathematics and sports. I also provided maths tutoring for schoolkids while I was in college.
My father is German, and I was born in Nürnberg; I understand German fluently and speak it at an intermediate level. I'd love to keep practicing my German as I travel. I also worked as a ski teacher in Germany for 3 months, teaching kids and adults who'd never skied before- this was great for my German too!
I'm a big fan of gardening, and I've helped with farm work in Devon, Germany and Cornwall, so I have some experience planting, harvesting and preparing crops, as well as looking after livestock. My father is an organic farmer/market gardener and so I am very aware of the ideas behind regenerative farming and caring for the world that provides for us.
I have 3 younger siblings and used to run clubs at their primary school, which gave me the chance to learn how to communicate with and look after kids. Also, I often helped to look after my Irish grandmother before she was moved into full-time care, so I have some experience working with the elderly too- I love hearing their stories! -

They are amazing hosts and made me feel totally comfortable and at home. The kids have loads of energy and were always willing to learn (and play, of course!). On top of that, Montpellier is a very pretty town/city :) I would totally recommend this stay.
They loved to learn with him and his help has been precious to improve their English!
