Description

Hello! My name is Sierra. I was born and raised in the Sonoran Desert that I call home. I graduated college with a degree in Family Studies & Human Development with a minor in Business Administration. Since graduating, I have worked at a mental health rehabilitation center as a therapist. Through my work- it has allowed me to meet people from many walks of life and taught me to truly treasure this life and not take anything for granted. I have done a lot of volunteer work- as a camp counselor, with homeless populations, at-risk youth, as a softball coach, at a vegan B&B/animal sanctuary, a Buddhist temple, and much more.
Through my experiences, I have learned that there is something special to take away from every moment- even the challenging ones. I love meeting new people (and animals!), being outdoors, and trying/learning new things.
I will be quitting my job at the rehab center at the end of June/beginning of July to pursue a more nomadic lifestyle that I have always dreamed of and will be coming to Australia!

I speak fluent English, some Spanish (still learning).
I am very much self-motivated, have experience caring for animals (giving them medicine, cleaning their living space, feeding them, etc.), experience teaching, strong communication skills, cleaning, weeding, leadership.
I am always excited to learn new things, am a quick learner, and always thoroughly follow directions and ask questions!
Would be more than happy to contribute to any type of projects you have.

Sierra was a joy to have helping with the animal Sanctuary. She was always willing to do anything asked and full of energy, fun and an efficient worker. I stayed at the temple for about 2 weeks. It was such a wonderful, beautiful, unique experience I will always hold close and never forget. I was so lucky to have this be my first workaway experience.
