Description
Hello! My name is Sasha. I am a 23 year old from the United States. My passions include playing the piano, listening to music (anything apart from country or heavy metal :), spending time with friends and family, and good coffee! In college, I studied Music and Social Work. In the future I plan to pursue my master's degree in Social Work to become a licensed clincial social worker. My ultimate goal is to be a bilingual Spanish speaking mental health therapist. I am friendly, outgoing, a strong communicator, driven, and adaptable.
I like to spend my free time going for walks, reading, journaling, making collages, and practicing my Spanish. I love being outside, whether walking my dog or doing lawn care. One of my newer hobbies is cooking fresh and healthy meals.
So far, I've had the opportunities to live and study Spanish in Asunción, Paraguay, Quito, Ecuador, and San José, Costa Rica. I am passionate about learning languages for the way it facilitates human connection. In addition to lending a hand at the locations I visit, it is also important to me to be able to practice my Spanish with the communities I meet. My interest in WorkAway is three-fold: connecting with people from around the world, experiencing different ways of life from my own, and bettering my Spanish language abilities.

I am friendly, outgoing, and a people person. I love to interact with many different kinds of people. Currently, I am a social worker at a local community mental health center, where I work with a diverse clientele. I also work at a local pizza restaurant on the weekends as a server and bartender, which keeps me quite busy! I am a hard worker, and I am driven to complete tasks well. As such, time management is a skill that is very important in my life.
I am adaptable to new environments. I embrace every opportunity to travel and learn about other cultures. So far, I have been lucky to travel to Paraguay, Spain, and Ecuador, where I studied abroad for 3 months. I speak Intermediate Spanish, and embrace every opportunity to use it.
I have college degrees in Social Work and Music. I studied the piano for 14 years along with participating in choirs, musicals, and theatre productions throughout my high school and college experience. Whether creating it, or just listening to it, music has always been a big part of my life.
While I am no means a professional gardener, I do have experience growing and tending to vegetable plants.
