  • Description

I graduated from college this year, and am currently on a gap year traveling the world! I’m very adventurous: I love challenging myself culturally, mentally, and physically. I’m looking for opportunities to experience other countries’ cultures, languages, and foods! For my hobbies, I love reading (especially realistic fiction!), biking and exploring, hiking, and making friends all over the world!

    My favorite volunteering memory:
In middle school, I served at my local food shelter during Thanksgiving, a national holiday in America. I helped provide food to people in my community during this holiday, and I’ll never forget seeing their smiling faces as we gave them good food to eat for the holidays!

I’m a hardworking respectful traveler, looking to work for hosts that will show me what it’s like to live in their country!

More details about my language interests
I believe languages are a core part of a country's culture. I want to deeply immerse in other cultures, therefore I want to learn other languages too! As a patient native English speaker, I would love to teach English to others! あと、三年間日本語を勉強しています!だから、まだ勉強中なのに、かんたん日本語も教えられます!(I've been studying Japanese for three years! That's why, even though I'm still studying, I can teach basic Japanese as well!)

  • More details about your skills

I graduated from college this year, with a degree in Web Design & Programming. However, I have many other skills as well.

I’ve done physical work on a corn farm, where I learned how to stay focused and hydrated on hot weather, customer-facing work as a cashier in a restaurant, where I learned how to be respectful to customers, and related to my degree, I worked as a UI/UX designer and frontend programmer for a healthcare company for 2 years.

三年前に日本語の勉強が始めました。今年、日本でもっと勉強していたから、かんたん会話できます。でも、まだ勉強中です!(3 years ago I started studying Japanese. This year, since I studied more in Japan, I can make basic conversation. However, I'm still studying!)

Overall, I have a strong educational and work background, but I’m looking for any and every opportunity to learn new things! I would love to develop more hands-on knowledge and skills, as well as anything that pushes me out of my comfort zone.
