Hi! Currently volunteering in Corralejo Spain. Searching a new job from July onwards!
Description
Hi! My name is Romee, I’m 28 years old and currently volunteering in a hostel in Corralejo Spain where I work at reception and cleaning.
After backpacking through Asia and Central America, I came back to the place that has my heart. Recently my situation changed and because it's quite lastminute, I can't stay at my current employer so I'm looking for a new opportunity.
I also volunteered in a hostel in Guatemala for a month which was amazing and where I improved my Spanish as well,
I’m a slow traveler who loves to really settle into a place, connect with people, and experience local culture rather than rushing from spot to spot. I’m very active, love being outdoors, and surfing is a big passion of mine. Being close to the ocean and surrounded by like-minded people truly makes me feel at home.
During my last backpacking trip through Asia, I volunteered for two months at a surf camp in Sri Lanka. An experience I absolutely loved. Living, working, surfing, and sharing daily life with guests and staff gave me a real sense of community and taught me a lot about hospitality and teamwork.
I thrive in social environments like surf camps and hostels, where I can meet travelers from all over the world, help create a welcoming atmosphere, and stay active at the same time. I’m easy-going, positive, and always happy to lend a hand. Whether it’s helping guests, keeping things organized, or sharing a surf session.
I am fluent in Dutch and English and conversational in spanish
I have a bachelors degree in Hotelmanagement and work experience as a service manager, Finance admin, customer service specialist and manager in different restaurants.
