Description
Hi! I am a music therapist originally from Nebraska and currently living in Minnesota. Music is a big passion of mine - I love getting song/artist/band suggestions from people and listening to the different nuances each artist brings to their music. As part of my job, I use music to help individuals with special needs and/or mental health conditions work toward non-musical goals such as self esteem, sustained attention, and regulation. Instruments I play and teach are piano, guitar, ukulele, and saxophone.
Outside of work, I enjoy a variety of activities such as puzzles, crochet, volleyball, playing Zelda, and being in nature. Traveling is something I've always dreamed of doing, but was never able to due to school, covid, and settling into a job, so I am looking forward to any opportunities I may have. :)Interests

More details about your skills
As someone who has a variety of interests, I have developed a variety of skills and am always curious to learn more. On my journey to becoming a music therapist, I obtained degrees in music, psychology, and (of course) music therapy while also working in retail or banking (during undergrad) or a group home for individuals with severe mental health conditions (during grad school). Through these experiences, I have learned not only the importance of self-care, but how to care for others. I deeply care for everyone around me and am always willing to help out any way I can.
Both at work and home, I enjoy doing things with my hands. I am often doing some sort of craft in my downtime and have even built some custom shelving for the office I work at. I also love cleaning and organizing. As part of my job, I help maintain our office to ensure my co-workers and I are able to best access the space and that everything is functional. This has included repairing instruments or furniture, researching ways to soundproof rooms, or arranging rooms and storage.Age

What else ...
Although I am adventurous, I can be shy. It may take some time for me to warm up to a new environment or I may feel I need some alone time until I feel more comfortable.
