Any manner of outdoor activities like backpacking, hiking, climbing, canoeing, etc. are what I enjoy doing on my free time. I also enjoy reading and writing.

I have been a wilderness guide in Alaska for the past two summers as well as a park ranger in New Zealand and a math teacher in Michigan. I have a variety of "handy" skills that could be very useful in fixing and building a variety of structures. I understand the needs and requirements of structures in more remote settings. I also have strong analytic skills of many sorts from having a degree in mathematics. I have experience with leading groups of people of all ages in both teaching and guiding capacities (requiring strong communication skills). I also have an excellent work ethic and will be prepared and ready to learn a variety of new skills I can apply.
