  • Description

Hello, it’s really nice to meet you :)
My name is Michela, and I am an Italian 22 years old woman.
I am currently living and studying in the United States, NC, but I’ll graduating in May 2026 with a Mass Communication - Journalism major and a Spanish Language Minor. I came to the United States three years ago, as a recruitment for the Cross Country Team. I love running, that’s my biggest passion, and that’s what brought me here.
Together with English and Italian, I also speak Spanish and French fluently.

I would say that nature, movement and human interaction are the food for my soul.
I am an extremely active person and I love any kind of outdoor activity, and I love say that I have a strong addiction with people. I love talking and hearing any kind of story, and that’s what brought me to focus my studies in the communication field.

I am a very dedicated person, and I am a severe hard worker. I started working as a waitress in a mountain restaurant when I was 14, and since then, I never stopped working. Currently, I am employed in my campus as a Fitness Instructor for F45 Group Fitness Classes, Resident Advisor for the Campus Residence Halls, Photojournalist for the University Newspaper and Technical Assistant for the University Movie Theatre. I love keeping myself busy and make the best out of the time I have.

I am very, very energetic and I am one of the most optimistic people you’ve probably ever encountered. My only goal is to live my life to the fullest, and take advantage of every single minute and opportunity that I’ll encounter in my life path. I like to think that everything is possible, as long as you have a strong desire to make it so.

I was raised in a wonderful home in Valsassina, LC, a little valley in the Alps mountain chain, near the Lake of Como. I have a wonderful family that gave me the opportunity to really learn what deep love and care mean. I have an older brother who's a doctor and an older sister who works in the cows genomics business. My dad and my mom are both extremely genuine people, who allowed me to learn what it means to leave a sustainable, simple and authentic life.

My biggest fear in life is to dye unsatisfied, and that might be the reason why I am currently living at a speed of 100kh/h, every single day. I want to enjoy every single minute fo every single hour, because I think life is too much of a wonderful and unique gift to afford not living it to the fullest!

Instead, If I had to name something that brings me happiness, I would say life: life is what brings me happiness the most. I love being alive, and I don’t care how meaningless this might sound. My goal in life is to leave a little footprint anywhere I go, by simply encouraging the people I meet to appreciate life and embrace its happiness as much as they can.
I simply love to see people’s smiles :)

More details about my language interests
I love languages to the fullest. I can speak English very well thanks to the three years of university that I’ve been attending in the USA. As I went to a linguistic high school, I speak French and Spanish as well. I know Spanish as if it was my home language, simply because I’ve been growing up with Spanish friends. Next year, I am planning on starting a second bachelor in Venezia to study Arabic and Chinese. The reason behind this is that, as I previously said, I want to hear people’s stories. I think that every single person can leave a footprint in our life and make us see an aspect of the world we never thought before. For that reason, I want to know as many languages as possible to speak to as many people as possible. I would love to have the opportunity to use my knowledge for the benefit of others, as well as having the chance to learn a new one as well.

  • More details about your skills

As I previously said, I started working when I was 14 years old.
At my earlier age, in Italy, I’ve been working in several restaurants and mountain restaurants. I worked in a sky resort area, as well as in an Irish pub and an etiquette dinner restaurant. Together with that, I also worked as a housekeeper in a spa and in a bed and breakfast as well.
When I got 18, I worked as a babysitter and as an English teacher for Middle school students.
For almost two years, I’ve been a professional Mountain Runner in Italy, until I’ve been selected to go running for an American team in the University Of North Carolina At Pembroke.
Here, I started working in the School Cafeteria, cleaning and serving food. Right now, still in the USA, I am working as a fitness instructor, technical assistant in a movie theatre, photojournalist and resident advisor.
All these jobs mainly allowed me to be self-reliant and realise my real life goal: travelling. I’ve been paying for my own flights and experiences since I started working, because I believe that is extremely important to be independent and have the financial stability necessary to be able to help anybody, at any time.
As I said, I love travelling and I’ve developed through all my experiences a very suitable ably to adapt to any situation. I am not picky at all, and I believe I have a pretty good survival habilitation. I don’t look for comfort, but for genuine life instead.

  • What else ...

I am sun addicted. I love the hot weather and the beach, and I love having the feeling of the sun warming up my bones. I am very very talkative and curious, and not very fearful of anything, but, as I said, very optimistic.
I would say that my biggest fear is the simple possibility to dye unsatisfied. I want to embrace my life and enjoy any single minute of it, by simply always seeing the positivity in the little things.
