Description
Hi! We are Maria and Asia, two 19-year-old friends from northern Italy, excited to start our Workaway adventure. We’re curious, energetic, and motivated to discover new places, meet people from different cultures, and give a hand wherever it’s needed. Both of us have experience in first aid and working with people: Maria has been a lifeguard and swimming instructor for children, which gave her strong safety skills, quick reflexes, and the ability to stay calm and helpful in any situation, while Asia volunteers with Croce Verde, an Italian emergency service, where she supports people in need and has learned responsibility, teamwork, and how to react well under pressure. These experiences taught us both how rewarding it is to help others, stay reliable in any context, and adapt quickly.
We were both scouts, an experience that strengthened our teamwork, problem-solving, and adaptability in outdoor and challenging situations. We love traveling with just a backpack, and we enjoy adventure, discovering new environments, and being resourceful in any circumstance.
We love working with children, gardening, outdoor activities, animal care, and creative projects, and we’re always ready to learn new skills. Before starting university, we want to spend this year traveling, volunteering, and living new experiences that will help us grow, gain independence, and create unforgettable memories. For us, Workaway is the perfect mix of adventure, cultural exchange, and meaningful connections, and we can’t wait to contribute with energy, positivity, and curiosity while sharing special moments with our hosts.

We are both active, practical, and adaptable people who enjoy taking on new challenges and learning through experience. Having been part of the scouts, we are used to working in teams, living outdoors, and adapting to different situations with flexibility and problem-solving spirit.
Thanks to our work and volunteering experiences, we have developed strong safety skills, patience, and the ability to manage responsibility with confidence. We have also gained teamwork, quick decision-making, and reliability in first aid and emergency contexts.
We enjoy physical and outdoor work such as gardening, animal care, and manual projects, but we are also happy to help with cooking, housework, and daily routines. We bring creativity, communication skills, and teaching experience, as well as enthusiasm, energy, and a positive team spirit.
Together we make a dynamic, motivated, and reliable team, eager to work hard, adapt easily, and contribute with good energy and a smile.

In addition to what we’ve already mentioned, we have a variety of hobbies and interests that make us curious and enthusiastic about new experiences. Maria loves swimming, reading, and philosophy, and she has a strong background in classical and humanistic subjects, including Latin, Ancient Greek, and literature. Asia is very active and sporty—she practices Firefit, a fast-paced obstacle sport that requires agility, strength, and problem-solving—and she also loves astronomy. Her academic background is in science, mathematics, and physics, giving her a practical and analytical mindset.
We both enjoy traveling, camping, and spending time outdoors, and we have explored Europe through Couchsurfing, visiting countries such as Spain and Albania with nothing but our backpacks, which gave us the chance to meet locals, experience different cultures, and adapt to new environments. We love learning new things, exploring different cultures, and meeting people from all over the world. We also enjoy creative and intellectual activities, board games, and challenges that push us to think and act. Together, we bring energy, curiosity, and enthusiasm to every experience, ready to contribute and make the most of our time abroad.
