Description
Hello, my name is Mao. I run a guesthouse in Kyoto, Japan.
I am very interested in different cultures and ways of life around the world. Although I only speak Japanese, I joined Workaway because I want to step out of Japan and gain real global experiences.
Because I work in a guesthouse, I am used to communicating with guests using translation tools, so I am confident we can understand each other even with language differences.
I am a positive, proactive, open-minded and cheerful person. I enjoy meeting new people and easily make friends.
I can also share Japanese culture such as calligraphy, kimono dressing, and Japanese cooking. I would be very happy to introduce Japanese food and culture to you, while also learning about yours.
I look forward to working and sharing a great experience together. -

More details about your skills
I run a guesthouse in Kyoto, where I handle daily operations such as guest check-ins, cleaning coordination, guest communication, and reservation management.
I regularly welcome international guests and am used to communicating using translation tools. Because of this, I am comfortable interacting with people even when we do not share a common language, and I can adapt flexibly to different communication styles.
I am also very good at working with people and creating a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. I easily connect with new people and help them feel comfortable.
In terms of cultural skills, I can share traditional Japanese experiences such as calligraphy, kimono dressing, and Japanese cooking. I would be happy to introduce Japanese culture through hands-on experiences. -
