Greetings! I'm an outdoor enthusiast, foodie & world traveler. I believe in trying things more than once & casting one's interests aside temporarily for the benefit of learning about nations' customs.

Description

Dear hosts, My name's Thomas, who is new to Workaway. I'm a Costa Rican-born Englishman, residing in Prague, the Czech Republic, my second 🏠 home. I live with my long-term partner (girlfriend) in a pleasant district rooted between nature and city life. Since 2006 I've lived & taught in over half a dozen countries including Russia, Ukraine, China, Indonesia, Spain, Poland and England. I also spent a brief spell (2 months) doing voluntary work with the Kachikel Maya in the Central Highlands of Guatemala in 2004.

In person, I think of myself as a philanthropist, ardent traveler and raconteur; one who also gains satisfaction from good relations and honesty. HUMOUR is also very important to me. On balance consider myself a good listener contrary to my verbosity. Above all, I am an open-minded, clean and tidy, adventuresome, genteel with a strong sense of compassion and courtesy. As a LANGUAGE TEACHER/TRAINER 🧑🏻‍🏫 I have been fortunate that my work has helped me see a lot of 🌍 the world. Over many experiences I've always been willing to confront fears and get my hands dirty in the face of self-development, learning and GIVING BACK to the world from the privilages life has given me.

I am also a big foodie; an epicurean by nature. I believe food is not only a means to live but an opportunity to share and make friends. I particularly like the Arabian proverb I came across once. 'Those who eat alone, choke alone.'

Socially, I gravitate to warm, open people, who have nothing to hide.

Schooled in the city of Bath, Thomas had a first-class, private school education with RP (also known as BBC/Queen’s English). As a native English Teacher Thomas’s strength is language instruction to all ages and abilities — from young children to adults — in both English, and to some extent, Spanish. Additionally, Thomas is a worldly traveller who has been fortunate to live in well over half a dozen countries from the Far East to Latin America. He possesses excellent social skills and is ready to talk about practically anything.

ADDITIONAL SKILLS INCLUDE: Farm work, Basic maintenance, Confident Swimmer/Former Gym/Aerobics Instructor and (to some extent Gymnastics).

LEARNING NEW SKILLS: Piano, Video Editing, Skiing.
