Description
Hi everyone!
Our names are Maia (Italian) and Tom (British), both 24. We are easy-going, kind people who get on well with anyone we meet. We've recently left our jobs in finance and hospitality and we are looking for more adventurous experiences together where we can embrace new cultures and meet people from all walks of life.
Both of us are creative and appreciate art and nature. We don't mind getting our hands dirty, we have a can-do attitude and are fast and eager learners. We also love writing and reading and have a desire to know other ways of seeing the world, so we enjoy talking to new people and having interesting conversations. I (Maia) speak Italian, English, Spanish and some French (would love to improve!);Tom speaks English and is learning Italian and Spanish!
A bit more on us individually:
I (Maia) enjoy arts and crafts, photography, discovering new places and constantly taking on new challenges. My previous volunteering experiences took me to Vietnam, Finland, Spain, Indonesia - where I built fences and stages for festivals, taught English and obtained a TEFL certification. I'm passionate about social work and feeling part of a community, which is why I recently left my job in the UK - where I lived for about 6 years - to spend time with family in Italy and explore the rest of the world!
Useful skills: Painting, building, DIY, languages (English, Italian, Spanish), photography, care work, animals, hospitality & customer service - happy to adapt and help with anything though!
I (Tom - hello!) like to stay fit and healthy and work out regularly. I enjoy cooking and I love to try new cuisines. I studied philosophy and I like to connect with people by understanding how they see the world. I also love to be in nature and I'm a huge animal lover too! I have recently left my job as a bartender in the UK to find some new adventures abroad :)
Useful skills: Building & physical labour, cooking, painting, gardening, writing, DIY, hospitality & customer service - happy to adapt and help with anything though!
We're both very respectful individuals and take pride in being clean and keeping a place just as we found it. We're also very independent and enjoy doing things on our own just as much as we enjoy doing things together.
We hope you choose us to help you with your projects and can't wait to share some amazing experiences!
