Hey I'm Maddi and I have just finished my second year at the University of York, studying English with Art History. I am about to start my study exchange at Lund University and I am hoping to gain some independence and familiarity with Swedish culture and customs before term starts in August!
Before my first year at uni, I spent a month in Denmark doing workaways around the country. It taught me a lot of different skills but also how to navigate new places alone. It was an amazing experience and I'm excited to see who I'll meet and what I'll learn this time around!Interests

More details about your skills
I have worked in hospitality for four years now, with over three years of customer service experience, in all sorts of places, from small family-owned cafes to a Michelin Star restaurant in my uni town! I've worked with all kinds of people and it's been good fun getting to know different tastes and interests of my local community and those who travelled far to try some good food. Speaking of, I love good food and I've been getting a lot better at making it since moving away from home. I love to cook for my friends and family and if you're a fan of ramen, fish tacos or chicken tikka masala then I'm sure you'd love it too :)
Hospitality has also given me more practical skills of course, like cleaning which I'm sure would be handy. I'm also quite a crafty person, I studied textiles in school and I like to sew and embroider whenever I can. I volunteer for a local arts centre during the summers, which involves a bit of maintenance work, like painting and some gardening (mostly weeding). My degree also involves a lot of reading and writing, so if you need any help with writing in English or just a good book recommendation, I'd be happy to.Age
