  • Description

I am a retired international educator (teacher, principal, director) who has dual nationality, USA/France. English is my mother tongue; my French is very strong, and my German is "lousy fluent." I am also a global grandma, a needlepointer, and a reader. I prefer riding bikes and traveling by train to driving or flying (but of course, I drive and fly, as well--I just enjoy my bike and the train much more). I have lived and worked in the USA, France, Germany, China, India, and Guinea (in Africa), so I am an experienced interculturalist, which means I always have something more to learn! I am in pretty good physical shape and am not afraid of hard work, not afraid of sweat, not afraid of dirt. I have worked with adults and children both, always around communication and learning, and enjoy people in general. Animals are great, too. I eat almost anything, but buttered popcorn might be my favorite.

  • More details about your skills

As an educator (primary school, secondary school, county jail, and adults) I have experience communicating, learning, across languages, cultures and ages. I have worked as an assistant to my genius craftsman brother in apartment renovation, and I do simple DYI projects myself (painting, plastering, sanding, staining...). I am a pretty good assistant gardener. I don't mind mucking stables if I can take a nice bath afterwards. I have pretty good internet skills (for a boomer)... for example, I have built my own website, and it is not cluttered, but clean. It looks like a website, not a wordy brochure.

  • What else ...

I love storytelling and working with others (kids and adults) to produce skits and theatrical scenes. I appreciate music of all kinds...I used to sing in a trio, but, alas, my singing days are over...which makes me appreciate musicianship even more. My favorite brain teaser is NY Times Connections (and the Crossword).
