Description

Hi there! My name is Olivia (you can call me Liv) and I'm a 25 year old Canadian travelling Central America! I would love to connect with with a host that needs help with any farm or outdoor work, with sustainability, artistic, or maintenance projects, help with animals, cooking meals, cleaning, organizing or any general household tasks. In Canada, I'm a tree planter for 6 months of the year, planting thousands of trees a day for 10 hours a day out in the wilderness. In the last five years, I've individually planted over 700,000 trees of all different species. During those 6 months that we're working, we live in tents in remote areas with no reception or access to amenities, so I'm very accustomed to rural living. When I'm not planting trees, I'm a scuba diving instructor! 2 years ago I lived in Indonesia teaching diving for a year and a half and fell in love with the local culture while sharing my passion for the natural world with people from all over the world. My goal while travelling is to immerse myself in the local way of life while giving back to the communities I get to visit. More than anything, I love connecting with people and learning new skills. Sharing our stories and cultures after a day of work is one of my favourite things to do, even better if I can make you laugh!! I'm outgoing, friendly and also a very hard worker with a strong sense of responsibility, reliability, and teamwork. I'm a quick learner and very determined to help, so any task you have for me I'm sure I could be of use!

My skills include:
-Outdoor/ farm work of any kind (specifically planting trees, maintaining outdoor spaces, working with animals, any physical task, harvesting, and I would love to learn more about gardening)
-Teaching kids and adults English, swimming, or any outdoor activity (I taught scuba diving to all ages and was a swim coach for kids for many years. I'm also a first aid instructor who teaches basic first aid)
-Cooking meals/ cleaning/ any household tasks (I'm a busybody who loves keeping a space tidy and warm. I can always find something to do around a home, farm, or communal space)
-People skills and community living (I'm very used to being in shared spaces so I love organizing activities and getting people together)
-Extensive first aid training
-I was a synchronized swimmer for 11 years! I could teach you some moves
