  • Description

Hello! I’m Olivia and I am from the UK. I arrive in New Zealand in July and I am so excited to explore such a beautiful country. I’m here on a working holiday visa and I am looking to swap my time and skills for accommodation, friendship, and new experiences whilst looking for a full-time job.

I’ve spent the past few years working in flood risk management jobs for local government and the Environment Agency, specialising in community engagement and asset performance . This has given me loads of experience working with people from all backgrounds — from running events to supporting emergency response teams. I’m practical, proactive, and not afraid to muck in.

I am a RYA qualified dinghy instructor and spent several years working as a volunteer teaching children how to sail single and double handed boats.

I’d describe myself as open, easy-going, and reliable. I really value honest communication and like to help out in any way that I can. Whether it’s helping in the garden, organising things, cleaning, cooking (I am a vegetarian but I am happy to cook for non-veggies), or lending a hand on creative or admin tasks, I’m happy to get involved. My Dad has taught me quite a few DIY skills like wallpapering, painting, and building flat pack furniture, and I am happy to learn more if required (whether that's from a person or from YouTube)!!

I love meeting new people and learning about different ways of living — that’s a huge part of why I’m here. I’m tidy, respectful of shared space, and always up for a chat or quiet time depending on what the vibe is. I also love spending time independently if you need space!

In my free time, I enjoy going for walks, crafting (my craft of choice at the moment is crochet), music, going to the gym, and journalling.

Looking forward to connecting with kind hosts and contributing however I can. :)

  • What else ...

I’m quite a creative person. I love painting, ceramics, and wandering around art galleries — my favourite so far has been the Art Gallery of New South Wales, especially the Rene Magritte exhibition. I also really enjoy board games (favourites include Splendour and Lords of Waterdeep), journalling, walking, and going to the gym. I’m always keen to learn something new — whether that’s a recipe, a skill, or just a new way of seeing the world.
