Description

I see life as a quest - a quest to find new knowledge, beauty, to create something. I am interested in artivism, environmentalism, anthropology, social justice, philosophy, and everything that falls in between. Art carries me through life – I find it to be a great way to foster connections, introspection, and convey meaning. I am currently finishing up university in the Netherlands and looking for a meaningful way to spend my summer (and practice Spanish.)

I appreciate open efficient and non-violent communication practices, building meaningful connections with people and places, and a creative environment. I try my best to not take things at face value, offer compassion and seek complexity and ambiguity of ideas and things.

I have quite a deep conncetion with nature, and am looking for an escape away from the city for some time.

I would love to practice my Spanish, after taking an intensive language course for 8 months, although I understand basic-intermediate speech, I really need to practice speaking to solidify what I have learned so far. In exchange, I am happy to teach/help practice speaking in English.

I practice many artistic mediums (mainly painting, drawing, photography, and writing). I would LOVE to help to make the space more artstic. I also have some experience with murel painting and sculpture. I feel quite confident while holding a camera and photo editing (both wildlife and editorial), and would like to put these skills to use.

I also have acquired all of the essential gardening skills (including harvesting, pest management, planting/propagation, plant identification, herbal medicine and so on). I know quite a lot of plants/fungi species as I grew up living in the countryside with biologists. I take a deep interest in ecology, both from the ecocriticism-environmental humanities, indigenous knowledge, and biology point of view. I am also happy to help with general maintenance/construction when I am instructed what to do.

Overall, I have quite a lot of international volunteering experience, mainly with European Solidarity Corps – from working as an editor of a magazine, in a refugee shelter, for an ecology fieldwork, or doing promotional work for the European elections.
