Hi! I’m Leila, a 26-year-old from the USA currently planning a working holiday in New Zealand. I’m an avid outdoors lover, I'm into hiking, backpacking, climbing, and yoga and am always excited to try something new. I have a background in Industrial and UX Design and absolutely love DIY projects. I’m handy, hardworking, and quick to learn, with experience in woodworking, painting, patching, and interior design.

I’m particularly passionate about conservation, whether it’s environmental, wildlife, or marine and would love to get involved in any projects that help preserve and protect the natural world. I’m also eager to connect with people, contribute meaningfully, and explore some of NZ’s beautiful climbing spots along the way!

I have also helped make websites as a work exchange and would be happy to do so for you if desired!

I bring a mix of hands-on and creative skills to the table! I have experience with woodworking, painting, and all kinds of DIY projects—I'm comfortable using tools and figuring things out as I go. My background is in UX and web design, so I also enjoy problem-solving and finding smart, human-centered solutions. I’ve fostered animals in the past and have some experience with horses from riding, so I’m comfortable around animals and happy to help with their care. I’m a quick learner, very personable, and excited to jump into farm work or anything new that comes my way.

I’m so excited to be moving to New Zealand! I’ve heard such incredible things about the people, landscapes, and lifestyle, and I can’t wait to experience it all firsthand. I'm really looking forward to meeting new people, making meaningful connections, and learning about the culture and day-to-day life here. I’m especially eager to explore the outdoors, hiking, climbing, and soaking in all the natural beauty New Zealand has to offer. It feels like the perfect place to grow, contribute, and adventure!
