Hiya! My name is Karolina and I am a Chicago native looking for a new adventure after some time in the business world. I am a lively, open-minded person and always up for a challenge, I'll try anything once! I have a passion for cooking and baking, and I love the way that food brings people together. I am a lover of dance, movement, and live music. I like to work hard and relax hard, whether that means sitting out by the beach or on top of a mountain- nature makes my heart sing!
After living in the beautiful Sierra Nevada's for the past 4 years, I recently came back to Chicago and have found that the hustle and bustle of this charming city no longer serves me the way it used to. Now I am looking to hit the road and lean into a slower and more meaningful life. I am super excited to start my journey on workaway again as I have had so many awesome experiences with hosts in the past.
After spending some time as a volunteer in the Caribbean, I fell in love with sailing and being on the water. I'm keen on any opportunities that will get me on a boat... be it in or out of water! I have my STCW and over 600 nm!

I have a wide variety of skills that I hope will be of service to many! I have experience in taking care of people of all ages- infants, children, and elderly. Having spent summers in the countryside, I am no stranger to long hours in the garden, taking care of animals (including the stubborn and the smelly), and any farm chores that need doing. I have a passion for the arts and have worked with artist collectives and in eco villages.
I have varying experience in the hospitality industry from working at air bnbs in Costa Rica to eco conscious hotels in Tahoe- I have a true passion for customer service, especially when it is travel related! I hope to get involved in the communities I stay in and truly experience everything they have to offer.
I'm motivated and excited to try new things and see what gets thrown in my direction!
Professionally, most of my job experience has been working with small businesses, where I have taken on business development/ logistics. My expertise is helping overwhelmed business owners strategize and create processes to ensure smooth operations. Although I am moving away from this type of work due to its behind the desk nature, I still really enjoy it and will gladly help any entrepreneur looking for this kind of help.
