Description
Hello there! My name is Kalena and I am a postgraduate anthropology student from Sydney, Australia.
My friends describe me as someone who is perpetually curious, adventurous and always up for a philosophical discussion or two. I am an avid feminist, environmentalist and passionate about social and cultural issues.
I have been lucky to grown up surrounded by nature my whole life and have fond memories of surfing, snowboarding, hiking and bushwalking. Currently, I am a passionate rock climber, digital artist, and reptile enthusiast among other things. I have recently gotten into birdwatching!
I also have a fondness for travel and learning about other cultures and languages. In my free time you can find me improving my geography skills playing Geoguessr, visiting mueseums and art galleries or simply nose deep in a good nonfiction book.
Thank you for reading my profile! I look forward to meeting new people and experiencing the world 24hrs apart from me :) -

More details about your skills
I am always eager to learn and add new skills to my skillset as well as help out with my mix of creative, practical, and hands-on experience.
Creative / Digital
• Experience using Adobe InDesign and digital editing through designing and compiling my late grandmother’s geographical and historical nonfiction book “Signposts to the Past: Stories of Places and Streets of Bouddi Peninsula" by Beverley J. Runcie.
• Experience selling my own artworks at local art shows in Australia
Gardening & Outdoor Work
• General gardening experience including planting, weeding, and maintaining garden beds
• I enjoy using and learning outdoor power tools such as hedge trimmers, gurney, GOAT machine and mowing lawns, including operating a ride-on mower (one of my favourite tasks is mowing my neighbour’s paddock- so satisfying!)
• Familiar with rural property life on a 2-acre family property
Animals
• Dog sitting for local community members, mainly Jack Russells (I used to have a Jack Russel and a black German Shepherd named Wasp)
• I pet-sit a friend’s blue-tongued lizard for six months and I also have my own bearded dragon named Raptor!
• Basic horse care support on family property, including feeding and general care (some exposure to horse breaking through family work, though I haven’t ridden since I was younger but want to get back into riding eventually!)
General / Practical Work
• Cleaning and general household tasks including dishwashing, laundry, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning gutters etc
• I used to work at a deli and at a school bush camp so I have experience working in fast-paced environments which require cleanliness, reliability, and teamwork. -
