  • Description

Aloha! I (Joy) was born and raised in Hawaii, on the island of Oahu. I love the ocean- snorkeling, swimming, and playing in the waves. I love hiking and finding peace and connection in nature. I try my best to make decisions that are (pono) in alignment with all things and operate in a consciousness of LOVE and ONENESS.

Future plans include creating intentional community of free, creative people who inspire each other and live sustainably in harmony with the land, people, and animals. I would like to do this on the Big Island and perhaps somewhere else on the continental U.S., should a place call to me.

Rowdy is originally from Kansas but has been living in California for the last 10 years. He is a kind and gentle spirit with an aptitude for seeing how things work together. An excellent communicator, he is highly creative and skilled in writing. He can also employ very logical & analytical thinking while troubleshooting and is apt in coming up with creative fixes or solutions to tricky problems.

We are open and accepting people, curious about life, interested in new perspectives and experiences, willing to expand and grow. We are travelling on our motorcycles.

  • More details about your skills

    Joy:
I have a Bachelor's degree in sociology and have worked with people with disabilities/disadvantages for the last 15 years. My professional goals have always been to work with people from a strengths-based perspective, helping them to build on their strengths and realize their full potential in order to live their best life.

I know how to work the land- pulling weeds, weed whacking, trimming hedges, planting, harvesting, etc. I am not the best at building, but I do know how to paint, use a hammer, drill, saw, etc. I love doing/learning new things and if I don't know how to do it, I will watch a lot of You Tube videos to try and figure it out.

I have lots of experience with children, having raised two of my own and having worked in pre and primary schools for many years. I am comfortable with animals and insects (I do not like spiders. LOL).

    Rowdy:
My career path led me from consumer electronics sales and product support to more hands on field technician work. I've built a general aptitude of "figuring stuff out" and coming up with creative solutions or efficient fixes for something that isn't working properly. That includes product support, installation and repair of TV, phone & internet service and, most recently, service large currency sorting machines in bank vaults and casinos etc. I love learning how things work and visualizing what's happening (or should be happening).

Some of my hobbies include woodworking, photography, gardening, amateur radio, saltwater aquariums & making beer/wine/mead. I also have some electrical experience, but no certifications. Like Joy, I also love learning new skills as well as sharing what I've learned.

I'm pretty comfortable with animals as well. I grew up with horses and have had both dogs and cats. I tolerate insects for the most part and am also not fond of spiders, but I'll come to Joy's rescue whenever needed. :)

  • What else ...

    Joy:
I am a lifelong learner, forever curious about everything the Universe has to offer. I love quantum physics and meta physics. I love people and nature, and love observing and understanding both. I love observing and understanding myself. I am an intuitive Tarot reader, a Reiki practitioner, a philosopher, a writer, a magic maker, a freedom fighter, a lover of life.... I enjoy pushing the edges of consciousness and thinking in new and "radical" ways so that we (humanity) can evolve into greater, more expansive LOVE.
    Rowdy:
For as long as I can remember I've enjoyed being creative one way or another. Professionally that evolved into the general aptitude I mentioned before and I have done well providing my services and abilities at various companies. But eventually I long to move on, learn new skills and improve myself. The time I've spent in Japan and in central Mexico (mostly Michoacán) were awesome experiences, but I never felt like I was in one place long enough to slow down and really explore and take in the land and culture. One thing I've learned from Joy is the importance of recognizing what really makes you happy and questioning limiting beliefs. "Dare I to dream" I once asked. Why yes, yes I do.
