Description

Hi there, my name is Jessica and I am 31 years old. I am a native British with Russian roots & I grew up in the beautiful southern part of Spain - Andalusia. I currently have been living and working in the Netherlands for the past 7 years. I consider myself to be European and can adapt very well to being in international environments.

I have been working for the last 10 years in the customer assistance business in call centers/office assisting customers and their needs. After doing soul searching, I bravely decided to quit my job and follow my dreams of wanting to do a job which is more enrichening and fullfilling to be to actually living off the grid and being around people in the here and now.

Currently I am working in the Hospitality industry as a receptionist in a hotel. I found myself naturally fitting in that field as being hospitable and caring for guests comes natural to me. My long term goal is to relocate to Iceland permanently.

My passions are traveling, using Art as a way of expressing myself and a outlet to channel my emotions, volunteering (which I am currently volunteering for a mental health organisation in Maastricht to be there for young people. NL)
- I have an eye for Vintage whether that be clothing, collectibles.
- I love music and it has been one of my biggest saviours in life. Especially electronic music and 80´s music.
- Psychology. Im intrigued about how the brain works and how we can improve our emotional intelligence and retraining our brain especially finding tools that help us cope in a more healthier way. 🧠

I love everything that involves being in nature, unspoilt beauty such as Iceland. I have grew a profund love for Iceland as a country as I have already visited 8 times and it is my dream to do a workaway in Iceland to gain different perspectives whether that being living with an Icelandic family or helping on a farm/hotel establisment. I am very eager to learn more about the Icelandic culture whilst volunteering and helping to give back to the community. I am very well invested in my own personal growth, learning also through others and contributing to society.

I am a honest open-minded person and although I am not a great cook, I love good food and willing to venture more to learn new skills.

Although I have never done a WorkAway - I am willing to start somewhere and looking forward to starting this journey. :-)
