Description
Hi there!
I'm a 23 years old guy from South Korea, currently getting ready for my working holiday in Germany. I’ll be flying to Germany on August 27th, and I’m really excited to start this new chapter of my life.
I'm joining Workaway because I want to experience new cultures, improve my language skills, and meet people from all around the world. Of course, saving on accommodation and food during my travels is also helpful, but more than that, I truly enjoy meaningful exchanges with others.
People around me often say I'm a very warm, friendly, and positive person. I like to believe that myself, too! I’m passionate about photography and video, especially documenting my life and travels.
One of my biggest dreams is to become a film director someday. I love cooking and making new friends wherever I go. While I haven’t done formal volunteering yet, I’ve worked many different part-time jobs in Korea from painting and welding support on construction sites, to serving and cooking in various restaurants, to even tutoring English for adult beginners at a language academy.
I’ve been told many times that I’m a quick learner and someone who works well with others. New tasks always take a bit of adjustment, but I’m not afraid of challenges.
I enjoy learning new things and adapt quickly thanks to my energy and mindset. My best friend(almost my older brother!) will be studying abroad at Freie Universität Berlin, so I’m hoping to stay somewhere near Berlin if possible.
I’m not just looking for a short stay. I’d love to be someone who’s truly remembered, someone who becomes part of your memories in a good way. If you need help, I’ll give it my all. I’d also love to share some of Korea’s culture with you. I really hope to find kind and open-hearted people I can live and work with like family.

I'm very interested in learning German. In Korea, I used to teach basic English to elderly learners, and I’ve also helped exchange students and language school students with their Korean studies. Thanks to those experiences, I’m confident in teaching Korean as well. Every Sunday, I meet regularly with German friends for language exchange, and on Tuesdays and Thursdays, I join meetups with people from various countries where we communicate in English. Language learning is honestly one of my biggest hobbies. I just really enjoy it!

More details about your skills
I’ve worked in many different fields from helping with welding and painting on construction sites to serving in restaurants and even tutoring beginner English to adults. These experiences have taught me how to adapt quickly, stay organized, and work well both independently and with others. People often say I’m a fast learner and someone who pays attention to detail.
But one of the things I’m most passionate about is capturing everyday life through photography and video. I enjoy creating visual memories, not just for myself, but for the people I’m with. While staying with you, I’d love to help capture special little moments, whether it’s a casual family photo, a short video of your daily routine, or just the atmosphere around us. I think even the most ordinary moments can become beautiful when you look back at them.
Growing up as the youngest of four boys, I was always surrounded by older siblings who looked out for me. That taught me to be caring, observant, and respectful. I’ve never officially worked as a babysitter, but I try to bring the same kind of warmth and understanding that I’ve received my whole life.
At home, I usually take care of household chores cleaning, laundry, and dishes and, honestly, I find it calming! I also love cooking, especially Korean food. My brother is a professional chef, so I’ve picked up a lot from him. My favorite thing to make is Korean stews (jjigae), and I can adapt the recipes for vegan diets too.
Physically, I’m strong and dependable. I served in a Korean special forces unit, where I received intense training that taught me discipline, teamwork, and perseverance. That experience gave me both physical stamina and a strong mindset when it comes to taking on challenges. I also led a team during my service, so I know how to take initiative and support others at the same time.
I’m always open to learning new things, whether it's a new skill, language, or way of life. I’m not just here to lend a hand. I truly want to connect, grow, and create something meaningful together.
