I have always felt happiest while I am traveling. The feeling of complete freedom and diving into the unknown is what motivates me the most to get out of my comfort zone and continue to see this amazing world. I love being able to explore new places, be apart of and learn from different communities, and have the chance to meet new people who wouldn't mind exchanging crazy travel stories. Originally from California, I have lived and traveled throughout the state. I have lived and worked in Yosemite National Park on and off since 2021 and it was the best decision I have ever made (besides making this account of course ). Doing seasonal work there has exposed me to a whole new world filled with like minded people, community living, and has made me realize that I am more than capable of fulfilling my childhood dreams of traveling the world. I have also gone on several big road trips across North America visiting other national parks such as Zion, Grand Tetons, Mt. Rainier and more. Last year, I went on my first overseas trip to New Zealand and loved it! I could not stop thinking about where I could go next and now I will be going to Switzerland this summer.
I like to spend my days outdoors whether it's backpacking, swimming, climbing up in the alpine, or even just laying out in the sun with a book. I feel that it is important to take part in all kinds of outdoor recreation and I find lots of peace in spending time outside in the natural world. If I am not doing some outdoor activity, I love to cook healthy meals with fresh and local ingredients and of course baking a yummy dessert after is always a must. I am very easy going and enjoy appreciating the little things like drinking a hot cup of tea after a long day.
Doing seasonal work the past few years, I have done many different jobs mostly in service, tourism, and hospitality such as:
- Front Desk Clerk
- Campground Host
- Baker Assistant
- Hiking Guide
- Server
- Camp Attendant
- Housekeeper
While in New Zealand, I did my first ever work exchanges through Workaway and online backpacker groups. Some of these opportunities included working on a boat, on a farm, and at a retreat. During these, I was taking part in tasks such as light maintenance, child care, cooking and baking, gardening, animal care, cleaning rooms, and much more. I really learned to love the idea of work exchanges and what they have to offer to travelers and I hope to do many more this summer.Interests
