Description

Hi, I’m Izzy! I’m 23 years old and I’m from England. I am currently in Australia on a Working Holiday Visa, and I'm excited to get involved in meaningful environmental projects through Workaway, as this is something that I am very passionate about.

It’s always been my dream to travel. Since I graduated university in 2024 (Geography BSc), I have solo travelled to 13 countries across Europe and Southeast Asia. I stayed in hostels, met so many wonderful people from all over the world, and explored amazing cities, cultures, and landscapes while learning to budget and travel independently.

I am currently (March-May 2026) volunteering for a reforestation project in the Daintree Rainforest. My tasks include nursery help, land management, and conducting ecological surveys for research.

In October 2025, I volunteered at a forest, beach and coral reef conservation centre, located on the remote and pristine Usukan Island in Malaysian Borneo.

I am also experienced in customer service and hospitality, having worked as a Shift Leader in a busy cafe for 3 years, and as a Barista for 6 years.

My volunteering experience has brought me closer to nature and inspired me to seek another opportunity in conservation. I would love to help protect nature and wildlife, support local communities, and take part in sustainable projects that create a positive, lasting impact.
