Hello everyone! I'm Izzy. I'm 25 years old and I live in a small city in central England. As a university graduate in Modern Languages, I am looking to put my knowledge into practice by travelling around and meeting people from all corners of the world. I am a positive-minded and outgoing person who loves to try their hand at new things. Being outdoors, in nature, surrounded by animals and like-minded people would bring me the greatest joy; however, to put it simply, it would be a real pleasure to volunteer for anyone with a positive mind and a story to tell!

In 2023, I graduated with a degree in Modern Languages, studying French, Chinese & German. My degree has also led me to spending 6 months in Strasbourg, France, as an exchange student. Following graduation, I then spent one year working in Wuhan, China, as a TEFL teacher.
I have worked a handful of jobs since the age of 16, including waitressing, bar work, retail work & language tutoring. From 2022 onwards, I have also been working in the voluntary sector; participating in a landscape restoration project, administrative work to provide support to disabled children, volunteering for a national homeless charity and, most recently, as a volunteer gardener at a historic parkland garden .
In addition to this, I have done two previous workaway placements; for 4 weeks in the heart of Gers, France, working on a donkey & lavender farm during which I milked donkeys, fabricated products in the laboratory and harvested plants in the fields; and for two months in southern Portugal, working on an ecological retreat farm, maintaining their permaculture farm & gardens and assisting in the Room Care Team during retreat periods. My most recent endeavour has led me to Finland, 300km into the Arctic Circle, where I have been working for the season as an Outdoor Instructor; in this role, I lead excursions including, but not limited to, snowmobile tours, snowshoeing & cross-country skiing.
