Hello! My name is Iliana and I am a very curious and creative philosophy student from Canada. At the moment, I am really interested in learning French and doing physical work in nature, especially with animals. I am also interested in craftsmanship of all kinds. I grew up in a big city (Toronto, Ontario) but have spent a lot of time on a small Greek island where my mother’s family is from — I love the natural landscape over there, the sea and the sun. I feel a desire to pursue a closer relationship to the natural world, and to learn from it.

I love many things. I am interested in experimental art of all kinds, I read and write a lot, I love film and the performing arts. I love to move, I live an active lifestyle. I love yoga, running, swimming, and I walk a lot day-to-day. I have travelled quite a bit already, and am very interested in learning about different cultures and ways of living. I am curious about different people and want to connect through conversation, food, art...

I go to a small liberal arts university in Halifax. When I am there, I work in an administrative position in a performing arts school, but in the past I have worked in a café, two restaurants, and a film festival. I have some babysitting experience, too.

I am a quick learner, hard-working and reliable, and have a warm, open, and positive mind and disposition 🌞

P.S. I am sorry I don't have many photos! I love to take photographs, but I am resistant to being photographed myself...I don't have any social media accounts or anything like that.

I am happy to teach English and I am especially interested in learning French. I have a little bit of French experience and am very motivated to learn more. I love many French films and books, and French culture at large… I would also like to improve my Greek, but I am most interested in French at the moment.

I have a very strong sense of language and am well-suited to teach English to anyone looking to improve their skills. I am a strong writer; my schoolwork consists primarily of reading and writing and I would be happy to help anyone with these things.

I have experience with customer service, childcare, domestic work, cooking. I am comfortable meeting and talking to new people. I am open to doing different kinds of work and want to be helpful to you! Personally, I am especially interested right now in working with animals, gardening, and craftsmanship—I do not have much experience in these areas, but again, I am very eager to learn! I learn quickly, and am a focused, detail-oriented, hard-working person.

I have grown up in a Greek/South African family with a lot of cooking around; I am competent in the kitchen and always happy to help out! I really love food and sharing it with other people.
