  • Description

I am looking for new experiences and impressions, seeing different approaches to life in the bigger picture and small, specific things, detailed and minute, maybe seemingly meaningless at first.
I am interested in connections and forming bonds, in understanding people and am always glad to hear their stories, perspectives, reflections and outlooks on life.
Other than that, I think, I am also doing this to get a break from the life I have been living so far, rethinking my relation to both nature and society.

I started working and travelling last September and began with three months in Czechia. Since the beginning of the year I have been in Scandinavia and now I am travelling Norway and looking forward to starting the organic farming course at Fosen Folkehøgskole in August. Until then, I am trying to get to know the country and language a little.

  • More details about your skills

I know how to handle most tools, ranging from screwdriver over various kinds of saws to tractors.
I excel at maths, science, and computer science, am a good teacher, and enjoy solving/attempting to solve complex problems.
I think I am generally on good footing with animals and work well for and with them, though it is hard to definitively know my standing with them.
I am good at organizing and happy to help with cooking

Once I have been instructed on how to do a task and its purpose, I can work well independently, as I am a quick learner.
Additionally, I am good at adapting to new situations or changing circumstances. To that end, (I like to believe) I am good at thinking outside the box and always try to find different ways of going about things to choose the one I like best. Overall, I like to give my own input and bounce ideas around just to see what can come of it.

I am keen to do all kinds of skilled work; carpentry and woodwork have won a special place in my heart, but I am happy to try my hand at anything new, whether it is plumbing, sewing, or smithing, doing something with electricity and mechanics or learning to cook local cuisine.

  • What else ...

So you can get a better idea of who I am, here are a few notes on myself by myself (so dont trust this list too much)
    - I love nature, so if you know anything about the plants and animals around, the landscape, bits of related history, or even regional weather, please share your knowledge with me
    - I like to run, bike, or swim to work out, but would love to improve at slack lining and climbing or learn how to kite surf (all of which I have 0 experience in)
    - I love reading; mostly political books (on climate change, capitalism, feminism), old classics (Tom Sawyer, Moby Dick, the like), or fantasy and sci-fi (LOTR, The never ending story, Ancillary Justice), but am always open for recommendations in any genre (though my reading list is already long enough as is)
    - My favourite TV-series is Avatar: The last airbender
    - I like to go for walks, both to relax and turn down my thoughts a little and to learn about the surroundings and the environment I am in
    - I listen to a fair amount of music, across many different genres and am always open to hear some new stuff
    - I love the rain and my favourite activity is getting lost in the woods
