Hi! I’m Hector, originally from the Basque Country, Spain. I love traveling, learning, and volunteering wherever I go. Volunteering is my passion, has helped me gain new skills, meet great people, and experience different cultures.

Over the past years, I’ve spent one year in Australia, another in Thailand, and an additional year traveling around Asia before cycling from Europe to China over the last two years. Recently, I’ve been exploring the Iberian Peninsula in a van, as I feel it’s time to truly get to know what I have close to home.

I’m passionate about meeting people and discovering new perspectives on the world. Right now, I’m at a point in my life where I’m looking for a place where I might eventually put down roots. At the same time, the idea of cycling through South America is calling me strongly.

I’m ready to contribute to a proyect that I feel inspired, whether it’s cooking, construction, gardening, ceramics, sewing, or anything else.
I’m hardworking, easygoing, I bring good vibes to the group and I always like to take care of others.

I have worked all my life as a mechanic and car painter, with experience in repairs, maintenance, bodywork, and spray painting. I also worked in construction in Scandinavia, building wooden cabins and learning carpentry, insulation, and general tool use.

I have experience in maintenance work in hotels, resorts, and campsites, taking care of repairs and daily upkeep. I grew up in the countryside, so I’m very comfortable with gardening, farming tasks, and working with tools and machinery.

I am also a diving and snorkeling guide, used to working with people and making sure everything runs safely and smoothly.

I have lived in communities where I took part in daily tasks and shared responsibilities, and I enjoy teamwork and simple, practical living.

I’m a hands-on person, adaptable, and always willing to learn new skills and help wherever needed.

One of my main goals during this journey is to learn how to live more sustainably and in community. I’m deeply interested in exploring ways to reduce my environmental footprint and create a more self-sufficient lifestyle. I believe in the power of sustainable living and community-building, and I want to learn as much as I can to start my own project in the future.

Through my travels, I’m gaining knowledge about organic farming, eco-building, renewable energy, and other practices that help make a positive impact on the planet. My plan is to take everything I learn and apply it to my own future project, creating a space that fosters sustainability, community, and growth.
