I am a 28 year old doctor who enjoys learning, being outdoors and taking on projects. I am reliable and motivated, and learn new skills quickly. My 3 year old dog Guinness is well behaved but useless.
We both lived on a smallholding until recently, and I have experience caring for goats and poultry, growing our own vegetables and various maintenance and DIY projects. I also have experience in hospitality and the charity sector (including funding applications).
I miss living and working on a smallholding, so while I have a couple of months off work I am looking for opportunities to develop my skills and knowledge!Interests

More details about your skills
I lived on a smallholding for 3 years, and love the lifestyle. In terms of livestock we kept goats and chickens, as well as a few sheep, ducks, quail and others. I also have experience caring for pigs while staying at a different farm.
We grew our own veg, including propagating seeds, planting out, maintenance and harvesting. I also enjoy food preservation, and have experience canning and drying home grown food. I am a good cook and I can bake bread (though my sourdough isn't very good!).
I am a competent DIYer - on our smallholding I had a workshop with all my own tools, which I am comfortable using. We self-built our house (except the block/brick work) so I can build most things. Anything I haven't done before I can usually learn quickly.
I am not very strong or fit (though I am hoping my fitness will improve while travelling!).Age

What else ...
My dog, Guinness, is my best pal and a very important part of my life - she's a little nervous with new people, but friendly and playful once she gets to know you. She is well behaved but doesn't like being alone, so anything I get involved in would need to be suitable for a dog to accompany as well.
I enjoy reading, cooking and crafts - I brought some tools on my travels with me, including my carving knives, and I will happily make you a spoon if you'd like. If, by any chance, you have a woodturning lathe I will happily make you a bowl, clock or other gift in exchange for some time using it, as I miss mine very much. Some more information
