Description
Hello! We are Esme and Max, a couple from Adelaide, South Australia. We are both avid travellers and love to meet people, visit new places, learn new skills, and share our knowledge and experience.
We are both psychology graduates, with Esme having just completed her Master of Clinical Psychology, and Max having just completed his Honours. We are about to embark on a big trip throughout Asia now that we have finished our studies, and are so excited about this opportunity and are looking forward to meeting and working with you!
In 2016 we travelled to Southeast Asia and Europe where we lived with people from all over the world and volunteered through Workaway, which was a phenomenal experience. Some of our favourite experiences include living and working in a Buddhist retreat centre in Menorca, Spain where we were vegetarian caterers, working on a farm in France, building an outdoor kitchen in the Netherlands, and working in a vegan restaurant and soup kitchen in Hoi An, Vietnam. Since then we have been to Indonesia, several parts of Australia and Japan.
We both have a lot of experience we can offer. Max has worked as a landscaper for over 11 years and has previously held roles in hospitality. Max has completed tertiary studies in information technology and is proficient with using technology and solving problems. He has experience with manual labour, gardening, and customer service. Esme currently works as a therapy assistant for Just Therapy where she works with clients with mental health difficulties. Esme has previously worked in several different roles, including waitressing and customer service, childcare for children aged 0-12, therapeutic program facilitating for elderly people, research assisting at Flinders University, volunteering in an aged care home, team leading for a service providing food for people experiencing homelessness, volunteering crisis supporter for Lifeline and drug and alcohol counsellor for DrugARM.
In our spare time, we love exploring new places, meeting people, cooking and going out for nice meals or coffee, rock climbing, gardening, playing board games and cards and being in nature. We have been together for almost 9 years and make a great team!
We are extremely neat, clean, tidy, and respectful people. Max has a green thumb and is skilled in taking care of plants due to his work as a landscaper/gardener. We have a thriving veggie patch where we live, so we are also happy to help tend to your fruits and vegetable plants if needed. We are fit and active and do not smoke. We are mature, reliable, and organised and can be flexible to your needs. We have fantastic reviews on Trusted House Sitters and Workaway through our previous house-sitting and volunteering experiences.
