  • Description

My next trip - I am planning to travel between July 2025- May 2026 in parts of Europe, Southern Africa and South America.

I am a hard working, gentle and friendly woman from the UK who enjoys meeting people from all over the world and exploring new cultures. I am passionate about travelling and about Workaway - I have had some great experiences volunteering in places such as Guatemala, Malawi, New Zealand, Australia, India, Borneo, Canada and Thailand as well as travelling in many other countries.

Over the last few years I have spent more time in the UK initially due to the pandemic. I then completed a masters degree in international development, conflict and humanitarianism before working for a couple of environmental/international development non profits. Now I am ready to take some time away to get inspired and to recharge, volunteer and see more of the beautiful world!

I am very adaptable, fun loving, honest and respectful. I love spending time working with people, but am equally happy working quietly and independently. I am motivated and keen to learn, and am confident and self assured. I love hiking, reading, swimming and yoga and like to spend as much time outside in nature as I can. I am a countryside girl at heart and grew up in rural Shropshire, which is where I spend my time when I am in the UK.

Skills- I am positive, friendly and very adaptable! I have worked in a range of different environments over the past few years both professionally and as a volunteer. I can work happily with all types of people and am keen to learn new skills along the way.

I have worked on reception at several places worldwide, done cleaning and laundry at hostels and campsites, served in cafe's, bars and restaurants, done tourism roles (selling whale watching tours!) and answered phones at call centres. When in the UK- I've worked professionally in several non profit roles (admin/finance/events planning and comms!) and am an experienced bookkeeper/good at managing finances and budgets-if you need help with that sort of thing too!

I have a lot of experience working with people and would enjoy hostel, bar or restaurant work. I also love the outdoors and keeping healthy- I hike a lot, do yoga and am keen to get stuck in doing gardening and planting work and animal care. I'm passionate about the natural world and have learned a lot about conservation in one of my most recent job roles with an environmental charity. I love any chance to be outdoors appreciating beautiful wildlife and nature!

In the last 10 years of being a Workawayer (on and off!)- I had great experiences doing building/ gardening in Borneo and Thailand as well as working at a guesthouse in Guatemala and looking after goats on farms in Nova Scotia and British Columbia. I love meeting people and want to see as much of the world as possible!

Education wise- I have an MSc in international development, conflict and humanitarianism , an accounting diploma and a travel and freelance writing diploma. I love learning and am curious and open minded- open to any cultural exchanges!

Ask me any questions about my profile, and I look forward to hearing from you and hopefully working with you soon!
