I retired from full time teaching in 2016 with the Hawaii Public Schools. I am very excited to begin a workaway project. I taught many subjects, including computers, English as a second language, and agriculture. In 2002 I completed a certificate in English Language Learners (ELL). I’ve taught English to foreigners off and on since then) As an agriculture teacher, I incorporated organic farming into our public school. I practiced a technique of farming called Korean Natural Farming, using indigenous microorganisms to enhance the soil. While living in Hawaii, I participated in numerous projects working to remove invasive species from Hawaii’s native forests.

My passion has always been focused on environmental issues. In 2000, I completed my Master’s degree in Environmental Education, focusing on ecotourism. Since receiving my degree, I have consulted several times in ecotourism projects in Russia, Bolivia, and Brazil. I worked as a U.S. Peace Corps volunteer for two years in ecotourism and environmental education in Rwenzori Mountains National Park, Uganda.

I’m passionate about caring for our planet and helping to secure good health/education for everyone. Thank you for considering me for your Workaway position.

Me retiré de la enseñanza a tiempo completo en 2016 en las Escuelas Públicas de Hawaii. Estoy muy emocionado de comenzar un proyecto workaway. Enseñé muchas materias, incluidas informática, inglés como segundo idioma y agricultura. En 2002 completé un certificado en Estudiantes del Idioma Inglés (ELL). I am a mature woman, extremely athletic and fit, with a variety of skills to offer. I love all animals (except pigs and mean goats). I have grown gardens all my life, a passion of mine. I live and travel very simply. I am especially interested in ecotourism projects, communities benefiting from their surroundings and the folks who visit it.
