Description
Dear Workaway-community,
I am so happy that I have joined you here. After I've spent six months in Cameroon for my practical semester, I travelled through different countries in Southern Africa, where I decided to try Workaway and Couchsurfing...Best decision I could take! I have not only learnt a lot about sustainable farming, permaculture and environmental practices, but I got to know such warm and heartly people, interesting ways of living, and inspirational minds and organisations. I am so grateful for all the experience I could make so far, for the friendships and warm feeling that have remained with me.
Now, where I am almost done with my Bachelor, I am thrilled for a new experience, for new people to meet and new cultures to greet, until I start with my Master's.
So now, something about me:
I am Emily. I grew up on a residentual farm, where I developed a strong binding to nature and a love for animals. For me, it is one of the most important tasks of our time, to protect this nature, this Earth which we call home. That's why I decided to study Environmental Engineering, where I have learnt a lot about Renewable Energies, Circular Economy and (Waste-)Water Treatment. Due to my studies, I have spent one year in the Global South which was the most enriching time of my life. The experiences I've made and the things I've learnt, I am trying to bring into german society now with education programms of "Bildung trifft Entwicklung" to be part of a change to a more understanding and less prejudice-dominated society. Next to that I am engaging in the local Unicef-group in my town, which is a real light-bringer for me.
Apart from that I love to swim, I really enjoy reading and at the moment I am invested in learning knitting;)
I am an open person, I take my energy from engaging with people, from good conversations, from laughing and...eating. I really love all different types of food^^ Still, sometimes I need my time to rest, to connect to myself and my thoughts and am happy being on my own.
I am excited, reading all the interesting host-profiles and would be happy, being part of one of your projects:)
Sending lots of sunshine to all of you🌞

Even if I was not there during her time I got to know that she helped whereever help was needed. She spent time with our children and went for long walks with our dogs. We wish her all the best on her journeys!
