Hi, my name is Emilie and I'm from Denmark but have lived in Italy for over a year, and I'm currently looking to challenge myself in the best way possible hopefully by meeting new interesting and kind people -helping them with their projects and share skills and experiences with workawayers around the world. I have had one experience with workaway as a couple, now I travel on my own and I'm an independent and very easy going person, and i love getting to know new people. I have experience with gardening from helping my parents maintain their small garden with winter-prepping, seeding, harvesting and some projects building outdoor furniture from recycled wood. I have a big passion for cooking, food in general and taking part of the whole process of growing and harvesting the ingredients I cook with. My dream is to one day be self-sufficient and have my own space to grow my vegetables and fruits, have animals and live a calm life. When I lived a year in Sicily I tried harvesting oranges, lemons and olives in the winter, and it was such an amazing opportunity to see and taste the vegetables and fruits that can’t grow in Denmark where I’m from. I love animals and have had farm stays where I fed the animals and I especially love cats. I am an aunt and I love taking care of my niece and love children in general so if there are kids, I would love to help taking care of them and play. I had an exchange year in Sicily with AFS Intercultura where I met people from around the world sharing our cultures and experiences while learning the Italian culture and language. Afterwards I became a volunteer for AFS Intercultura in Denmark where I was teaching on different camps for exchange students from all around the world about the Danish culture and what to prepare for when coming to Denmark as a young person. I can speak Danish, Italian and English and I’m open to teach them and learn new languages. Apart from that I love being creative not only while cooking but also drawing and making DIY projects and I get inspired by my surroundings. I am always open to new challenges and want to give everything I have when I’m being set a task.
