Software developer looking to explore the world! I love learning about new technologies and building new things using software, but I also greatly value time spent in nature and learning new physical skills. I can be a bit introverted at first, however I do really enjoy meeting new people and hearing their stories.

I've been in Vancouver for a while now, it rains a lot there... probably 8 months a year. Australia and its sunshine has been on my mind for quite some time and I would love to see it for myself! I'm also a big fan of the beach and have heard fantastic things about Australia's beaches.

One of my goals as of late is to be a more wordly person. I truly believe for that to happen I have to meet all kinds of different people, go to different places, and learn more about different cultures. I've also spent a lot of time at a computer, and I believe I need to spend a bit more of that time outside!

I have not yet participated in Workaway but I have met friends who have, and hearing about their experiences greatly inspired me to try it out for myself.

A lot more of my recent experiences have been technical, however I have a varied background

* I have a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology, giving me knowledge on health and fitness, training principles, nutrition, rehabilitation. This education has greatly helped me stay in good shape!
* I have worked in several restaurants as a server, giving me experience in customer service, thinking fast, and being long hours on my feet
* Worked at a startup as a software developer, where problem solving was my greatest asset. Most of the challenges I encountered were brand new to me, but through problem solving & adaptation I was able to overcome them
* I love pets! My mom has a cat that I take care of whenever she leaves on vacation. I always find it interesting how animals try to communicate with you
