Description
Hello! My name is Ed and I live in Bristol in the UK where I am currently undertaking a quantum physics PhD. I am coming to the end of my PhD and so am starting to write up my thesis.
During this writing period where I am fortunate to be able to work anywhere where I can bring my laptop, I am interested in exploring locations for cultural exchange and to get a feel for different places. I am planning some trips to visit different universities about potential future jobs so if I can tie together visiting a city to see a university alongside meeting local people and getting a sense of what a place is like from locals, that would be a dream for me!

Being a physics PhD student, I have a specialist knowledge of maths and physics and have tutored and taught both these subjects across a range of school ages (11-18) and also at an undergraduate level.
I would say I have a strong IT literacy so if you need help with computer related things from the basics right through to e.g. coding software or making a website I can definitely help.
I've done a reasonable amount of hospitality work in the past including bar work and some cooking at festivals and small events.
I also have experience with labouring for home renovation, painting, general handywork etc as well as gardening experience like e.g. trenching, planting trees.

In terms of activities, I enjoy hiking, cycling and running. I am an avid fan of music and enjoy listening to a good album at home and going out to see live gigs. I collect records at home and have done some DJing including on the radio in the past. On quieter days I enjoy reading and the odd bit of (very amateur!) watercolour painting.
