Hello~ My name is Yifei, my English name Disco Flye, you can call me "Disco" lol. 26-year-old international traveler who likes taking pictures, making films and creating content for social media. I was born and raised in China and traveled to 14 countries so far. I got my bachelor's degree in film in the US. I was in Los Angeles doing freelance, and got a job at Warner Brothers Studio as a tour assistant. Now I want to travel the world, meet new people and find some productive project to do, hopefully I get to find some buddies for life since i do feel lonely and marginalized sometimes.
I want to make some international friends by learning different cultures and languages, along with new skills like gardening, farming, or animal care. I can be anybody's right-hand man and I am a quick learner. I speak Mandarin, English, and conversational Japanese. Now I'm self-studying French, but I'm also open for any other language exchange. I don't mind remote areas because I get tired of busy cities sometimes. I consider myself a great chef, as long as there's instruction. On the other hand, I am able to help with technology and media stuff. I have a creative and futuristic mindset on creating digital art. I also love acting and board games. I have a personal website if you want to check out my work:

Anyway, travel has become a life-changing experience for me since I got my first international trip to US in 2012. I have been obsessed with different nature, people, and vibes. The peace at Solvang town, the beach in Phuket, the farms in Hokkaido, the castles in Malaga, the skyscrapers in New York City, the forest at Redwood, etc. These experiences make my stress go away easily, and it's such a relief for me from the local shenanigans of where I grew up. To me, being stuck in one place can be a struggle, it's like holding a glass of water, it feels okay at the beginning but the longer you hold the more painful it gets. There's no perfect place in the world, so I think it's significant for me to explore new places and put the glass of water down for a minute. When I move to a new place, I tend to merge into the local community and become one of them so that I can truly feel the magic of that place. Additionally, being international in terms of meeting new people and speaking different languages help me become a better, a more open-minded, and a more friendly person. That's my motivation to step out of the comfort zone, to learn and to contribute to whoever needs help.
Last but not least, I see myself as a half extrovert/introvert. I have two modes - spending time alone in quiet; being an absolute superstar in a social group. I used to be just an extrovert, but adulting has become one of my biggest struggles lately. While some people still see me as a child, I need some time to do mediation and self-reflection in order to fit in the community. Because in this day I gotta take responsibility of what I say and what I do.
Oh oh oh oh btw, I really like Jackbox!
UPDATE May 2024 - I just discovered I am a typical INFP.
UPDATE Sep 2024 - Just had one of my best summers in Europe this year. I attended 3 volunteer projects (Bulgaria, Poland, and Lithuania) and they were amazing. I am in BC, Canada now, back in school. And I am always looking for new opportunities and adventure for my spare time.
UPDATE Feb 2025 - planning my 2025 summer trip right now, but I will also be working on my final education project for my Canadian college. The topic will be free learning. I can still take ANY volunteer work, but if I can find something related to my research topic, it'll be ideal.
Thank you for reading this and your consideration! If you are also a travel nerd feel free to shoot me a message, let's be friends and make the world a better place to live.
