Hi there! I'm Emily, but I prefer to be called Dani :)
I currently reside in Salt Lake City, Utah, USA. I moved here seven years ago to work as a wilderness therapy guide. It was a transformative experience as it opened my eyes to so many more ways to live and helped me become more aware of my own priorities in life.
One of those priorities is travel and quality time in wilderness. I've since moved on from guiding, but continue to travel frequently, whether it be weekend trips to the desert or planning longer adventures. I recently got back from two months of travel throughout New Zealand and hope to return there next winter!
I currently work remotely for the University of Utah's School of Medicine in the curriculum department. I love my job because I get to support the mission of higher education and work with some amazing, smart individuals. Moving forward, I will be trying to do workaways while also working, since I have a good amount of flexibility and work-life balance.
Another priority for me is independence. I especially embrace this through solo traveling because it introduces an additional element of self-reliance while also encouraging me to meet new people. The connections I've shared with strangers that are now friends from my various travels are beautiful and invaluable.
