Description
Hello there! My name is Daniel (known affectionately by my friends as Brolic). I am from Nebraska, USA, but I currently live in San Francisco, California. I have a full time job as a Real Estate Developer in the Bay Area, and I teach part-time at UC Berkeley.
I am excited to provide any help possible to someone or a small community within a few hours driving distance. Ideally, I would be able to get to know the host and eventually be able to work for a few days over the weekend. I simply would appreciate the opportunity to work with my hands in a rural setting with a more grounded way of life. I am very easygoing and enjoy getting to know people on a deeper, personal level. I have a very optimistic outlook on life and greet each day with a great sense of gratitude and a big smile on my face. I have worked on a remote farm in Bali, where I lived in a hut with no electricity or plumbing for two weeks, and it was one of the best times of my life. I have also spent a month living off-grid in the mountains of Asturias in northern Spain, where I helped chop down trees, rebuild old stone houses on the mountainsides, and build new stone retaining walls and gardening beds for a large, terraced permaculture garden. I truly enjoy working outside with my hands and appreciate going to bed at night knowing I made a positive contribution to the people around me!Interests

More details about your skills
I grew up in rural central Nebraska taking care of my family's horses and providing land maintenance to the one hundred acres we lived on. I am very familiar with and comfortable with animal care, as well as general construction and maintenance skills. I have done a few personal woodworking projects, so I am also comfortable with power tools and construction tools in general. I also have experience in operating heavier machinery like tractors. I spent a few weeks building dry stone steps into the terraces of a clove farm in Bali, where I also helped harvest and prepare the clove for sale at the market. I also spent a month in the Asturian mountains of northern Spain helping rebuild old stone houses and stone walls. I have also spent a lot of time with children as a counselor for an extended stay summer camp where I was the unit leader for ten children ages six to eight. I love working with children and making sure they are well taken care of. I am also a decent amateur photographer and videographer, and I'm looking forward to documenting some of my experiences, mainly for myself. There is no task too small or too large, and I love learning more every day!
