Description
Hi there!
My name is Christina, I'm 40 years old and will be in Rome/Lazio region as of October 2026 and interested to explore towns and regions across Italy. I will be studying in Rome so I cannot do typical Workaway exchanges but I'm open to weekend meet-ups or exchanges if that is suitable.
Ultimately I'm interested to connect with like-minded and valued people and work/live in nature. After my studies I'll choose an area to stay in longer term, so visits over the next few months will help me determine where.
I'm interested in living sustainably and in nature, growing my/our own food, being surrounded with fruit, farm animals, and creating a place that meets a need and vision and aligns with nature. A homestead or farm is ideal :)
I've successfully lived in community for 20+ years, lived off-grid, worked and volunteered as an organic farmer and contributed to permaculture projects. I love children, have lived with families and work with children in my work so places with families are very welcome.
I have some experience with natural building and interested in more (strawbale, clay, lime plaster, earth, wood, bamboo etc.)
I have a lot to contribute and hope/plan to share that with people with the same intention, care and action. Building a cohesive place with interdependence, effective communication, love, joy, and autonomy is important.
I am interested in business, social and educational projects for youth or adults, and projects showcasing alternative living.
Other interests: fermentation, Ayurveda, German New Medicine, Chinese Medicine, Eastern philosophy
Skills: cooking, regenerative agriculture, gardening, some building, teaching, yoga, facilitation, managerial and leadership, sales and marketing, retail management, business support, community development and building, heart-based leadership, childcare
Background: manager, leader, business owner, hospitality management, project manager, owner and facilitator of youth and adult cooking and food literacy programs, yoga teacher, organic farmer, teacher- alternative education and within public school system, forest school support, nanny, cook, food production, retail management
A bit about me and what I bring:
Dedication, healthy mindset and attitude, kindness, creativity, love, care, solutions and an open mind.
I value connection, learning and spending time with people of all ages.
Building and improving a home space is something I love to contribute to.
Cooking and showcasing high quality ingredients is a large passion of mine. I deeply value harvests because I know the work and energy that went into it. Feeding, sharing and receiving in reciprocity is all a beautiful part of community and connection building.
Strong leadership, from myself and others is something I highly value.
Yoga teaching, practicing and living are part of my routine. Physical fitness, meditation, and some dance are also part of my typical regime. I love working towards a goal and bringing visions to fruition.
I'm curious, open, adaptive and community-driven. Nature, psychology, travel, health, spirituality, creation and food are some of my favourite topics of interest.
If this feels like a good fit for you, please reach out, sharing about you and your place/project (if not in your profile) and what drew you to write me.
Looking forward to chatting!
Thank you!
